Faculty academics and students have successfully taken part in the 6th Annual Conference 'Contemporary Problems in Management: Exploring the Boundaries' at the Management Faculty of HSE, Moscow. The goal of the conference is to further encourage scientific research on management problems by bringing together scholars working in the field, and to maximize the level of interaction among researchers at all stages of their career. Perm’s 'academic team' consisting both of mature and young researchers presented their work in several sections – 'Human Resource Management', 'Marketing', 'Strategic and Corporate Management'. The participants shared their impressions:
Elena Lapina, 3rd year undergraduate student: 'This was my first serious research experience and I was delighted to take part in a high level conference. This strengthened my wish to develop my career in research'.
Mark Evlampiev, 4th year undergraduate student: 'I presented a very practical case of marketing communications development, but this was my personal project and it was important for me to share my experience. My presentation was highly rated as I managed to connect marketing activity and increasing sales'.
Evgeniy Kataev, 1st year master student: 'We discussed my presentation longer than others due to the topic which is very ‘hot’ now – HR-branding and its perspectives for the future. That was very fruitful for me as I intend to work on this topic in my master thesis.'
Evgenia Alikina, Alexandra Khamadieva, Phd students: 'The conference was an important meeting point for both of us – we discussed our future research with our colleagues and supervisors.'
Olga Kotomina, lecturer in management: 'I took part in the section on strategic management and corporate governance as my research interest lies in the knowledge-intensive business sector. I came away with more questions than answers but this was my main goal as conferences like this are meant to stimulate new research agendas.'
Dmitriy Gergert, head of the Master’s program 'Project Management': 'Academic promotion and research interest sharing are the two main reasons for going to a conference and I was glad to present my research on the project portfolio management – this topic is not well investigated yet and we are making steps in this new field of study.'
